Chartered Institute Of Purchasing And Supply Courses
CIPS qualifications are recognised as a statement of purchasing excellence. They are required for purchasing and supply chain positions by many leading organisations around the world such as local authorities, private sector, public sector, manufacturing and supply chain. CIPS courses are constantly updated to ensure that they introduce the latest methods to students and set high standards for the profession. Local authorities for example, try to gain the coveted Purchasing Excellence Beacon status and see CIPS programmes as an essential part of the journey towards excellence.
CIPS Membership
CIPS Membership is compulsory for students and provides many benefits to support study and career development. In order to sit the examinations, membership applications must be completed at least 6 weeks before the exam closing dates in March and September. Membership can significantly help towards your coursework as you will have access to information from libraries, CIPS handbooks and research. A discount on conferences, seminars and help with CVs is also available.
Student membership is for those who are at the earliest stage of their professional development and are studying towards a CIPS Graduate Diploma or its equivalent. Students have full access to CIPS benefits whilst receiving a substantial reduction in their membership subscription during their course of study. On completion of the Foundation Stage, or its equivalent, students will move up to Associate Membership.
CIPS Assessment
Examinations are held throughout the world during the third week of May and November each year. Arrangements must be made directly with CIPS and candidates must submit examination entry forms, to CIPS, by 17th March or 17th September. If you are registered with CIPS, you can submit your examination enrolment form for as many, or as few subjects as you wish. The restriction is that the examination time table cannot be varied. Examination fees must be paid with the enrolment form.
In order to enjoy a reduced annual subscription rate you will be expected to attempt examinations at least every two years.
