Institute Of Leadership And Management Courses
The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) is a premier body with experience in the field of leadership & management. The ILM recognises the professional development achievements of managers from team leader to board level. Well over half a million managers have improved their own performance and brought benefits to their employers by taking part in programmes such as these.
The programme of courses starts with the Level 2 Introductory Certificate in Team Leading continuing on up to the Level 5 Executive Diploma in Management.
Durham Logistics College offers both the Introductory and Full Certificate qualifications at Level 2 and Level 3 either via Distance Learning or classroom based programmes.
ILM Membership
Anyone wishing to study an Institute of Leadership Management qualification have to register with the institute. DLC can do this for you. Students who achieve either the Level 2 or Level 3 awards are eligible to apply for ILM Associate Membership (AMInstLM).
At the outset of the programme candidates can join ILM as a student member. Student Membership supports candidates by providing a range of information and opportunities for professional development. The benefits include: an annual subscription to Edge magazine on leadership and management issues, published 10 times per year; special rates at members events; and networking opportunities.
ILM Course Assessment
The courses are assessed in a combination of ways depending upon the level and how delivered. These vary from mandatory segment reviews and work based assignments of no less than 1000 words to 5 work based assignments on a pair of modules or 10 shorter assignments. There can also be a project of 2000 words for the Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management followed by a group meeting with (and assessed by) the External Verifier.
