IOM Assessment
The IOM Certificate is assessed by a combination of assignments, written examination and a work-based project.
The IOM Certificate is awarded by DLC to students who successfully achieve a minimum mark of 50% in all four compulsory units.
The Institute will issue a Record of Achievement to students who participate in the programme and successfully complete the course work, whether or not they take the examinations.
The Record of Achievement does not constitute the award of a Certificate.
No exemptions are allowed from the Certificate.
The IOM Diploma is assessed by one 3 hour written examination for each unit, there may also be a continuous assessment element for each module.
The Diploma will be awarded by DLC Training for the successful completion of the course programme and examination passes from all units with a minimum mark of 50%.

This qualification can be studied nationally and internationally and is ideal for people already working in the field who would
benefit from a wider perception of their role and have no formal qualifications. This would also suit those new to the profession
who require a foundation course before progressing on to the diploma. Also, personnel that work in other areas, which impact on,
or are affected by production or operations management.

This qualification can be studied nationally and internationally and is ideal for people already working in the field. Students should
have at least two years of relevant industrial experience and are working in an operations management environment. Students
normally require the minimum educational requirements permitting entry to a university first degree course, or equivalent.
Mature candidates, without these normal entry qualifications, who would be able to derive benefit from the course may be
permitted exceptional entry. Student holding the Institute’s Certificate in Operations Management will be considered for entry to
the Diploma course.
